Prime Time Performers: October 10th – 15th

BIG PTP No Add

Here are this week’s candidates for Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

Vincenzo Finocchiaro (North Mac Forward) In just their third season competing, the North Mac Panthers are headed to a soccer sectional. A big reason why is foreign exchange student Vincenzo Finocchiaro who is the definite of a true teammate. He came into the season playing defense but has recently emerged as a finisher for the Panthers. He had a hat trick in the regional semifinal against Calvary last week and then did it again on Saturday, scoring three goals against Riverton to lead North Mac to their first ever soccer regional crown.

Adrian Greene (Southeast Quarterback) He started the year as a safety and a wide receiver. Now he’s playing quarterback for Matt Lauber’s boys on the East Side and putting up some pretty big numbers in Week 8 shows what a spectacular athlete Adrian Greene is. He threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 49 yards and two scores in a Spartan victory.

Joe Roscetti (Williamsville Goalie) Winning a regional is nothing new for the Williamsville Bullets. A big reason why their soccer team has a conference title and a regional title in 2016 is the man who stands behind them all. Joe Roscetti is mainly known for his quick hands at second base on the diamond, but Joe Ro has been a solid goalie for the Bullets this season, including posting a shutout against Blue Ridge on Saturday to send Williamsville to sectionals.

Katherine Petty (Rochester Runner) This is only the second year she’s competed at the CS8 cross country meet and she’s returned to Rochester with first place finishes both times. Sophomore Katherine Petty won the girls CS8 cross country race on Saturday with a time of 18:42.

Chris Durr (Glenwood Runner) First place in the Central State Eight is impressive no matter what the sport. Chris Durr crossed the finish line first in the boys CS8 cross country race on Saturday with a time of 15:57, which also helped his Titans as a team win first and end Springfield High’s nine year winning streak.

Grant Graham (North Mac Quarterback) With one week left in the regular season, all the guys in the channel1450.com dungeon of innovation are pretty upset they didn’t draft Grant Graham in Week 8 of the high school fantasy football league. The North Mac quarterback rushed for 100 yards, threw for 300 yards and was responsible for seven touchdowns. That would’ve been an incredible 62 fantasy points that the guys missed out on as Graham torched Riverton’s defense.

Nick Hanner (Athens Quarterback) Next season sure will be different for Warrior nation. When they go to football games, there will be a new man under center for the first time in three years. Nick Hanner put on a show in his final regular season game at the Athens Athletic Complex. The three year starter found the end zone three times on the ground and threw for another one in Athens’ gritty win over a New Berlin team that just refused to quit. He also had an interception to end New Berlin’s final drive.

Nic Baker & Josh Grant (Rochester Quarterbacks) Seven different Rochester Rockets scored touchdowns in their running clock win over Eisenhower in Week 8. The talent that Coach Derek Leonard has to work with is almost unfair with how smart he is, but someone has to get all those guys the ball. Derek sends out Nic Baker and Josh Grant each week and they just keep delivering. The two gunslingers for Rochester put up 198 yards in the air and four touchdowns. Having two quarterbacks that can run that offense is a good problem to have.

Marquel White (Jacksonville Running Back) The Crimsons offense is becoming harder and harder to stop as we head into the postseason. We knew all about James White coming into this season and defenses have to key on him. But if Marquel White can continue to pound away from the backfield, Jacksonville is going to be a tough out in 5A. White put up 76 yards on the ground and found the end zone three times against Lanphier in Week 8.

Zak Wardlow (Glenwood Running Back) In the past two weeks, Wardy has been running wild. Glenwood’s go-to running back with Brandon Hay a little banged up as over 500 rushing yards in his last two CS8 games. He pounded his way to 222 yards against MacArthur and found the end zone four times to get the Titans playoff eligible.
