Auburn trailed 24-22 with less than four minutes to play and needed a stop with Pleasant Plains driving on Friday night. Tai Haney gave them that and then some. The senior Trojans linebacker jumped a Cardinals passing route and 26 yards later, his pick six gave Auburn the lead and eventually a 28-24 win.

Pleasant Plains had built a two possession third quarter lead after Zach Ely hit Cole Greer for their second scoring connection of the night and Kai Carlberg kicked a 28 yard field goal. Trojan running back Evan Grimm trimmed that lead to 24-22 with a 52 yard 4th quarter scamper and Haney’s interception sealed the deal.
