PORTA's Trey Hild (132 lb) and Auburn's Peyton Hudspeth (195 lb) both picked up quarterfinal wins on Friday morning to earn a trip to Friday night's 1A state semifinals. Hild fell behind 2-0 before rebounding for a 9-4 win over Newman's Hunter Webb. Hudspeth jumped out to a 5-0 first period lead on his way to a 6-2 victory.
Hild (44-2) will wrestle Morrison's Joe Eads (40-5). Hudspeth (44-3) will see undefeated Wesley Kibler (45-0) of St. Joseph Ogden.
