Southeast watched a 15 point half time lead dwindle to 43-41 with three minutes left in the game, but the Spartans held off McCluer North for a 51-46 win in their opening round matchup at the Collinsville Holiday Classic.
D'Angelo Hughes scored a game high 14 for the Spartans and Trevyon Williams added 10. Southeast will play the winner of Decatur MacArthur and Belleville East at 10am on Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
