Glenwood left runners on the base paths in every inning and still had a chance to tie it up in the seventh inning despite a six run sixth from Mt. Zion. The Braves cashed in on their chances late and a grand slam from Stephanie Hurm sealed up a 9-5 win for Mt. Zion over Glenwood in the 3A Mt. Zion sectional semifinal.
Carolyn Franke got the Titans started with a RBI triple to cut into the Braves’ 3-0 lead after two innings. Sydney Paulauskis-Lauher tied things up with a two run single and Olivia McClintock gave the Titans a 4-3 lead through five innings, but the Braves battled back for a big sixth inning and will play the winner of Charleston and Mahomet-Seymour in the sectional championship on Saturday morning.
