One More Step: Senators Rout Limestone To Advance To 3A State Championship

Springfield picked quite the day to have arguably its most balanced offensive game of the season. The Senators smacked 15 hits en route to a 13-0 win over Limestone in the 3A state semifinal game. The Senators advance to the 3A state title, where they will face Lemont on Saturday at 11.

Michael Lavin pitched five shutout innings for the Senators. Springfield’s 1-5 hitters, including Luke Ketchum, Jake Langellier, Damian Pierce, Austin Alderman and Ethan Klay combined to go 10-for-19. Nine-hole hitter, Austin Troemper also had a huge day, going 3-for-3 with two RBI. Trevor Minder also tallied two hits and two RBI.
