There were less than 10 minutes to play in a tied, 2A sectional final between Triad and Rochester on Friday night. Rochester had a corner kick. Chad Kutscher had a play for that. Rochester's head coach dialed up a "dummy" play for Becca Jostes, who made a run on the corner kick before passing it by and leaving it for Amanda Williams who drilled what proved to be the game winner with 7:01 left to play.
The win secured another sectional title for the Rockets who advance to next week's 2A UIS Supersectional. The Rockets, who are the defending 1A state champions, are attempting to win back to back titles after jumping a class to 2A because of their enrollment.
