The Chicago Bears recently announced that Sacred Heart-Griffin High School football head coach Ken Leonard was selected as Bears’ nominee for Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year award. This past Sunday, he was honored at the Bears home game against the Eagles at half time, alongside other Bears’ Coach of the Week award winners.
In addition, Coach Ken Leonard and all Coach of the Week award recipients were invited for a private lunch and watch practice at Halas Hall this past Friday. Ken Leonard received a customized canvas painting detailing all his coaching career achievements, including being the winningest coach in Illinois history with 419 wins. After practice, all coaches received the opportunity to meet several players and coach Matt Eberflus.
