Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: March 1-6

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Addison Scarlette (SHG Basketball) The Cyclones had a busy week last week picking up four wins. Scarlette scored double digits in three of those games. On Wednesday against Routt she had 20 points including 4 threes and 12 versus Southeast on Thursday. Friday night SHG finished off an undefeated conference schedule with a win over Springfield High and the senior had 19 points including 10 in their third quarter.

TJ Price (Lanphier Basketball) The Lions claimed the number one seed in the CS8 tournament with two more conference wins last week. On a team with plenty of play makers TJ Price is often involved and he had two double digit games to close out the season. Hosting Southeast on Tuesday Price scored 15 and on Friday he finished with 10 against Jacksonville.

Sam Antonacci (SHG Basketball) The game of the night in the Central State Eight on Friday came down to the wire. Sam Antonacci stepped up late and got it done on both ends of the floor, taking charges, scoring big buckets and knocking down free throws. He also scored 15 points last Tuesday against Rochester.

Tori Scales (Riverton Basketball) The Hawks have been hot winning 6 of their last 7 games over the past couple weeks, throughout that time Scales has been a consistent scorer. Their one loss was by two points to Pleasant Plains on Thursday. In that loss Scales scored 17 and in a victory over Lutheran High on Saturday she had 10.

Jaycee Privia (PORTA Basketball) PORTA basketball continues to impress this season handing Pleasant Plains their first conference lost in four years and getting a victory over Williamsville to stay unbeaten in conference play. The freshman led the team with 15 points, including two big threes in the fourth quarter.

Kloe Froebe (Lincoln Basketball) Is there anything this freshman can’t do? In a 67-65 loss to Springfield High on Saturday Froebe scored 38 points including 17 in the first half and 17 of the teams 19 in the fourth. She scored 26 against Athens on Tuesday and scored another 26 Thursday night in an Apollo conference win over Effingham.

Spencer Rikas (Auburn Basketball) Auburn basketball picked up three wins this week and one consistent throughout was Rikas and his threes. Against Illini Central on Tuesday he drained 3 threes with a total of 13 points and added 4 threes and 19 points against North Mac on Friday. Saturday was the start of the Waverly Holiday Tournament and with 3 threes in the final frame and six in the game with a game high 22 points Rikas helped propel the Trojans to a win over Lutheran.

Tanner Wilson (North Mac Basketball) The Panthers picked up a one point victory over Williamsville on Tuesday as Wilson lead the team with 25 points including 7 threes. He also had 6 threes and 26 points against Calvary in the opening round of the Waverly Holiday Tournament. In a loss to Auburn on Friday he had 12 points.

Gavin Arthalony (PORTA Basketball) The Bluejays sit atop the Sangamo Conference standings heading into the last week of the season. They picked up a convincing win over Maroa at home on Tuesday and another win at Athens on Friday. Arthalony finished 4 threes, three of which came in the first half, and 15 points in the victory over the Warriors.

Kenzey Decker (Springfield High Basketball) In a comeback win on the road at Lincoln on Saturday, Decker finished with 25 points and 6 threes. The senior had 12 points in a loss to SHG on Friday including 7 in the second quarter to help tie the game at halftime. On Tuesday versus Eisenhower she had 4 threes and finished with 17 points.
