In the battle of CS8 unbeaten teams on Friday night at Duey Gymnasium, Lanphier outlasted Springfield High for a 78-70 victory to take control of the top spot in the conference.
Tye Banks had 27 points and 5 assists, KJ Debrick had a triple double with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocks and the rest of the starting lineup had at least nine points for the Lions. Shane Miller had 29 points for the Senators, who cut an 18 point deficit in the fourth quarter down to just seven without Bennie Slater who fouled out at the end of the third quarter. Lanphier will host MacArthur on Tuesday evening, while Springfield travels to Rochester.
