One thing you can’t question about the 2019 Springfield High Senators is their effort. After facing multiple double digit deficits from Alton, the Senators pushed and fought and clawed away, getting the game within three points in the final minute, but they couldn’t quite get over the hump to pull off the upset, falling 66-61. Zaire Harris played like a man possessed, scoring a game-high 25 points as Shane Miller added 14 for SHS. Donovan Clay led the Redbirds with 16 as Josh Rivers added 15. They will play Collinsville for a regional championship on Friday night.
