North Mac’s defense scored as many touchdowns as the offense and that was all they needed. The Panthers beat Auburn 12-8 in a tight Sangamo showdown between the two rivals to move to 3-3 and keep their playoff hopes alive with three games to go.
Bryce Hiler scored a rushing touchdown for the Panthers with 5:19 to go in the first half and 14 seconds later, Sam Mount came up with a pick six to put North Mac up 12-0 with 5 to go in the half.
Auburn would score just before halftime but neither team could find the end zone in the second half.
