Lanphier used a 21-5 first quarter to take a commanding lead over Springfield High on Thursday and the Lions never let up in an 80-48 win over the Senators on night one at City Tournament. James Jones went for a team high 17 points and six rebounds for Lanphier and Cardell McGee added 15 points. Zaire Harris paced Springfield scorers with 15.
Lanphier plays SHG on Friday. The Cyclones lost to Southeast 59-31 in the opening game at City Tournament.
Southeast is the No. 5 ranked team in Class 3A in the state and Lanphier is the No. 2 ranked team, currently. Lanphier is the No. 1 seed and Southeast the No. 2 at City Tournament.
