It took a year longer than originally expected, but Rochester will play for their sixth state title after a 49-21 win over Canton in Saturday’s 4A state semifinals. The Rocket’s jumped out to a 28-0 lead after a quarter and had guaranteed a running clock with 5:29 left in the half by by jumping ahead 42-0.
Rochester will play Johnsburg in the 4A state championship game next Friday at 7pm at Memorial Stadium in Champaign.
