Sacred Heart Griffin's early nerves cost them the first set in Tuesday's 3A sectional semifinal at Rochester, but as they have all season, the Cycs roared back in a three set win over Mahomet Seymour. SHG's 17-25, 25-19, 25-14 win over the Bulldogs send them into Thursday's 3A Sectional final against Quincy Notre Dame. QND beat SHG in straight sets earlier this season.
SHG Junior Annie Urbance posted a triple double with 11 kills, 12 assists and 10 digs. Senior Emma Hopkins had a team high 13 kills and Eilise Cummins had nine for the Cyclones. Alli Lanzotti led SHG in both assists and digs with 22 and 13 respectively.
