Ty Springer and Andy Antonacci drove in runs in the first inning and Drew Ward came through clutch with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning for the Cyclone runs. Sacred Heart Griffin beat Monticello 4-3 in the 2A Lincoln Land supersectional to punch their ticket to state for the first time since 2021. Will Pennell and Wil Coady picked up the win and the save in relief, pitching around five Cyclone errors in the game. SHG will play Eureka on Friday at 4 pm in Champaign in the 2A state semifinals.
