Havana made five first quarter three pointers and built a 20 point half time lead in Thursday's 2A Pleasant Plains regional final. Emily Nordsiek led a comeback attempt that cut the lead to as few as eight, but Athens could never climb the mountain in a 68-60 loss.
Nordsiek's 22 point led Athens in her final career game. Juniors Micah Tapscott and Madi Epperson scored 16 and 13 respectively.
Havana was led by Elly Bonnett who had 22 points, including four first quarter three pointers.
