Game 1 – John Wood
Caleb Royer hit two home runs and drove in four as Loggers defeated John Wood Community College 14-3 on Saturday at Quincy. Royer homered in the fifth and eighth innings. The Loggers got on the board in the first inning after Nolan McMasters doubled, scoring one run. The Loggers added one run in the second. John Wood Community College committed an error, making the score 2-0. The Loggers scored five runs on five hits in the top of the third inning. Austin Adcock doubled, scoring one run, Royer singled, scoring two runs, Tyler Dance induced Hunter Moser to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and Wandel Campana singled, scoring one run. The Loggers added to their lead with two runs in the top of the fifth inning thanks to home runs by Grant Pohlman and Royer. The Loggers added to their lead with four runs in the top of the eighth inning thanks to home runs by Adcock, Payton Mugele, and Royer.
Mitch Dye earned the win for the Loggers. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and three runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking four. Dance took the loss for John Wood Community College. The right-handed pitcher went four innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits, striking out four and walking one. Matt Miscik and Will Leman each came on in relief for the Loggers and shutdown John Wood Community College.
The Loggers piled up 14 hits in the game. Adcock, Pohlman, and Royer each collected three hits for the Loggers. McMasters collected two hits for the Loggers in four at bats. Moser stole two bases. The Loggers stole three bases in the game and turned two double plays in the game.
Byron Blaise and Payton Mansfield each drove in one run for John Wood Community College. Mansfield went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead John Wood Community College in hits. Haidyn McGill stole two bases. John Wood Community College ran wild on the base paths, accumulating six stolen bases for the game.

Game 2 – John Wood
Payton Mugele collected three hits in three at bats, as the Loggers defeated John Wood Community College 13-1 on Saturday. Mugele hit a solo home run to right field in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the third inning. The Loggers opened the scoring in the top of the second thanks to two home runs. The Loggers first got on the board when Mugele hit a solo home run to right field.
John Wood Community College scored one run in the bottom of the second on a solo home run to right field by Garrett Meyer. The Loggers scored five runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. Andrew Randazzo homered to center field, scoring two runs, Grant Pohlman doubled, scoring one run, and Caleb Royer singled, scoring two runs. The Loggers scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning.
Randazzo doubled, scoring one run, Bradyn Robertson induced Nolan McMasters to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Austin Adcock doubled, scoring one run, and Mugele singled, scoring two runs. Jack Wajda earned the win for the Loggers. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven and walking two.
Kevin Martinez took the loss for John Wood Community College. The righty went three innings, allowing seven runs on six hits, striking out three and walking two. The Loggers accumulated 11 hits in the game. Randazzo, Royer, and Mugele each drove in three runs for the Loggers. The Loggers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Mugele had the most chances in the field with seven.
Meyer went 1-for-2 at the plate as they led the team with one run batted in. Meyer and Carson Moreno each collected one hit for John Wood Community College.
