Favorite Mother’s Day Gift: I do not think I have one specific Mother’s Day gift that stands out. I suppose it’s a combination of gifts over the years. Their attempts of making me breakfast or giving me flowers that looked uncannily familiar to my flowers that were blooming outside in our yard and practicing their drawing skills with homemade mother’s day cards throughout the years. I had always prayed for a large family, so I have not taken for granted Gods gift of my two boys and how blessed I am to be their mother.
Hidden Talent: I thought it was helping out behind the scenes, quietly, out of the spotlight. So much for that ;) I guess many people may not know, although my background is in EC education, my father taught me the trade of painting and wallpapering. Although, it’s like the old proverb cobbler’s children have no shoes, I would have to be home to decorate rather than chasing the boys and their teammates, cast members and fellow Scouts all over central Illinois.
Best song to rock out with in a car full of kids: A rock out song with a car full of kids? I had to think about this one. There were many afternoons after school, we were racing in the car to one practice or another with a sandwich in one hand and a pencil in the other, practicing spelling words or typing out an assignment. There were a lot of meals and homework on the road over the years. I suppose there was some Foo Fighters, maybe some Gun N Roses turned up. My husband and boys would be disappointed if I didn’t throw in some AC/DC, Def Leopard, and of course Metallica. Connor running out of the Rocket football tunnel holding the American flag to Sandman is going to stick for a little while ;)
My best sport in high school was: My Dad was an P.E. teacher and a H.S. baseball coach; my siblings and I were always participating in sports growing up. Depending on the season, baseball, soccer, basketball, softball, soccer, if we were not playing on a team, we would be attending a game or event somewhere. Volleyball and badminton were my two main sports in high school. Yes, my H.S. had a badminton team.
