The Illinois Springfield women’s golf team closed out its regular season at the UMSL Spring Invitational on Sunday and Monday, tying for 11th place in a competitive 16-team field at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis.
UIS posted rounds of 326, 326, and 322 for a three-round total of 974, finishing tied with Drury. The Prairie Stars also finished ahead of GLVC opponents Quincy and William Jewell in the final standings.
Elaine Grant led the way for UIS with an impressive tie for sixth-place finish, carding rounds of 73, 74, and 74 to finish at +8 (221) across 54 holes.
Valentina Torrealba was next for the Prairie Stars, tying for 44th with a 240 (78-83-79). Lia Rodyplaced 70th with a 256 (83-85-88), while Erin Ahmadfadzir finished 75th at 260 (92-84-84). Ira Joshi, competing as an individual, recorded a 262 (91-86-85), and Yi-Ting Hsieh rounded out the UIS lineup with a 264 (93-86-85).
With the regular season now complete, the Prairie Stars turn their focus to the GLVC Championship, set to begin Friday at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana.
