Tate Aue (Lincoln Boys Basketball) The Railers trailed at the end of the third against Springfield High on Saturday evening and it was Aue who helped lead Lincoln to the 44-43 victory. The junior made three 3-pointers in the final frame including the tying and go-ahead basket. Aue scored 12 points in the game and you can see highlights HERE.
Cooper Clarke (Glenwood Wrestling) Glenwood won the team title at the Joe Bee Tournament at Lanphier on Saturday while Clarke won the 113 pound bracket. Clarke picked up the individual title with three wins that included two pins at 1:03 in his first match and 43 seconds in the title match. The Titans also picked up three wins over Washington, Olympia and Tolono Unity at the Unity Christmas Duals on Friday night.
Soriano Hayes (Lanphier Boys Basketball) Lanphier earned a 64-55 conference victory in Rochester on Saturday. Hayes led the way with 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals in the victory. He also had a double double of 17 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to Manual earlier in the week. See highlights of the win over Rochester HERE.
Bailey Leach (Pleasant Plains Girls Basketball) The Cardinals are now 10-0 this season and 1-0 in the Sangamo. Leach had two double digit performances last week. She started the week with nine points against Normal U-High. She then scored 12 of her 14 points in the first half of a Sangamo victory against Olympia and 12 points in a victory over Sacred Heart Griffin. Highlights of the win over U-High HERE and SHG HERE.
Abigail Malit (Springfield High Girls Basketball) The Senators earned a 58-33 win over Normal U-High on Tuesday at Duey Gymnasium. Malit helped lead the way in the win with 20 points. Check out some highlights HERE.
Alyse Mantei (Sacred Heart Griffin Girls Basketball) The Cyclones came back in the fourth quarter and forced overtime on their way to a 74-70 win over Southeast on Tuesday. Mantei had a game high 20 points including six three-pointers and 11 points in the fourth. Two of those threes came in overtime. Some highlights from that victory HERE.
Alyson Murphy (Mt Pulaski Girls Basketball) The Hilltoppers are off to a 9-0 start to the season. They earned a 60-27 win over Peoria Christian on Monday and it was Murphy led the way for Mt Pulaski with 20 points. See highlights HERE.
Brody Neuhoff (Williamsville Boys Basketball) Williamsville picked up two wins last week including a 72-68 win over Bloomington Central Catholic. Neuhoff led the way with 19 points in the victory including nine in the first quarter. He also scored eight points in a win over Tri-City on Wednesday and 20 points in an overtime loss to Eureka on Saturday. Highlights of the win over BCC HERE.
Alexis Neumann (Glenwood Girls Basketball) Glenwood is the lone unbeaten in the CS8 with a 4-0 record. They earned two conference wins last week against MacArthur and Lincoln. In the victory over Lincoln the junior scored 18 points including 11 in the second. She also finished with a double double that included 17 points in the win over MacArthur. Ava Rodriguez-Mansholt (Pawnee Girls Basketball) The Pawnee senior achieved the career milestone of her 1,000th point on Thursday. That achievement came as the Indians picked up a victory over North Mac.
Franklin Wade (Mt Pulaski Boys Basketball) Mt Pulaski earned a 52-49 Tomahawk conference victory over Athens on Friday night. The Hilltopper senior helped lead the way with 17 points in the win. See highlights HERE.
