UIS men’s basketball (3-1) secured a decisive 107-78 victory over Williams Baptist (4-0) on Friday night at TRAC, recording the team’s highest regulation-time scoring output since December 2019. In a fast-paced, high-possession game the Prairie Stars knocked down 13 three-pointers and handed out 23 assists to fuel their offensive rhythm.

UIS opened the night with a strong start, as Jordan Rice connected on a jumper and a three-pointer in the early minutes. Tye Banks added an early triple of his own, and the Prairie Stars’ bench provided a lift with 12 first-half points. Midway through the period, Adidas Davis sparked a key surge with back-to-back baskets, including a fast-break finish, pushing the lead into double digits. UIS controlled the rebounding with an effort that helped the Stars take a 53-41 lead into halftime.

The Prairie Stars fully broke the game open with a dominant 11-2 run in the second half, beginning with an Isaiah Davis three-pointer at the 6:47 mark on a feed from Rice. Davis delivered a career night, scoring 29 points and drilling eight three-pointers – becoming one of just three UIS players in the program’s Division II era to reach that mark in a single game. UIS capitalized on Williams Baptist turnovers and continued to add separation, pulling away with a 54-37 second-half advantage to seal the 107-78 victory.

Davis finished with 29 points, eight threes, and seven rebounds. Rice contributed 22 points along with seven assists and four rebounds. Banks added 14 points and six defensive boards, while Alex Stell posted 10 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks. Stell now averages two blocks per game, maintaining his position as the GLVC stat leader.
