Athens trailed St. Joseph Ogden 3-0 with just ten minutes remaining of their Sectional semifinal match in Williamsville but they had a man advantage after an SJO red card. Vincent Moscardelli and Connor Mabus scored over the next five minutes to pull the Warriors within one. However, the Spartan defense held from there to preserve the 3-2 win. Zach Harper scored all three SJO goals while the goal for Mabus was the 100th of his career. The Spartans will play Williamsville for the Sectional title on Friday at 7pm.
