Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: September 1-6

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Liam Bettis (Taylorville Boys Cross Country) The Tornadoes junior got a big win at the Rocket Invite on Saturday with a victory over last year’s 1A state champ. Bettis finished in 14:30 which was over 30 seconds before Chaz Oberkfell of Gillespie who won the state title last year. The Taylorville boys also won the team title. Check out highlights HERE.

Lucas Hollinshead (Williamsville Boys Cross Country) Williamsville hosted the Rust Buster Invite on Saturday and it was Hollinshead taking the win in the boys race. The junior finished in 15:00.84 and helped lead the Bullets to the team victory as well. Highlights of the invite HERE.

Gage Honn (Athens Football) The Athens Warriors picked up their first win of the season at home on Friday night. Honn rushed for 226 yards on 27 carries and four touchdowns in the 42-19 win over Pittsfield. See a couple of those touchdowns HERE.

Thomas Jarrett (MacArthur Football) A great debut for the MacArthur quarterback on Friday night as the Generals picked up a 43-42 win over Springfield High. Jarrett rushed for five touchdowns in the win which was also his first career start at QB. See highlights HERE.

Colten Knoedler (Glenwood Football) The Glenwood Titans are out to a 2-0 start this season following a shutout victory over North County on Friday night. Knoedler threw for 256 yards and five touchdowns in the victory. Highlights of that win can be seen HERE.

Luke Milnes (Williamsville Boys Soccer) The Williamsville Bullets won the Four Corners Tournament on their home field on Saturday afternoon. They picked up the title with a 3-0 victory over Pleasant Plains and it was Milnes who led the way with two goals. Check out the highlights HERE.

Gavin Oyler (Springfield High Boys Soccer) The Senators started their CS8 schedule with a win last week over Jacksonville. In the 3-1 victory it was Oyler who led the way with a hat trick as two of those goals came in the first half. See highlights of the victory HERE.

Morgan Petelin (Normal U-High Volleyball) Normal U-High is out to a 2-0 conference start this season with two wins in the Central State Eight last week. In a victory over Springfield High Petelin picked up 19 assists and seven digs. See highlights of the Pioneers win HERE.

Ryne Sheppard (Maroa Forsyth Football) The Trojans senior quarterback continues to add his name to the record books as he set a new school record for most passing yards in a game on Friday. Sheppard threw for 448 yards and seven touchdowns while also rushing for another touchdown. Check out highlights from the Maroa win HERE.

Zach Smith (Maroa Forsyth Football) Smith added his name to the Maroa record books on Friday night with a school record for most receiving yards in a game. The senior wide out caught 14 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns. See highlights from the record setting night at The Boyd HERE.

Kaiden Stout (Rochester Football) A big night for the Rochester senior as the Rockets picked up a 28-24 win over Mt Zion. Stout rushed for 286 yards on 36 carries. He scored two touchdowns on the ground and added another receiving touchdown. One of those rushing touchdowns was the go-ahead score with 6:33 remaining. Brianna Walters (Williamsville Volleyball) The Bullets picked up a three set victory over Mt Pulaski early last week and it was Walters helping to lead the way. The senior had 25 digs, four aces and nine kills in the victory. She also had 16 digs, three blocks, two aces and four kills in a three set loss to Hartsburg Emden later in the week. Morgan Wiezorek (Glenwood Volleyball) The Titans earned two Central State Eight wins last week with a three set victory over SHG and a two set sweep of Lincoln. In both victories the Virginia Tech commit put up big stats with 27 assists and seven digs against SHG and 26 assists and nine digs against Lincoln. Joelle Wilson (Williamsville Girls Cross Country) It was an individual win for Wilson at the Rust Buster Invite in Williamsville on Saturday. The junior finished in 18:03.59 and also helped the lead the Bullets to a team victory. Check out highlights from the invite HERE.
