Springfield High trailed Champaign Central 22-7 after the first half. Then the Senator offense exploded for 44 points in the second half to win their week one matchup 51-41. Kale Thurman had four receiving touchdowns for the Senators while Brody Scheffler had six total touchdowns, five through the air and one on the ground. Ziyir Aker had three touchdowns for the Maroons. Springfield hosts MacArthur in week two.
