We were happy to present two Scholar Athlete of the Year Awards this year, one to a female and one to a male student athlete. This award recognizes college-bound high school seniors who standout academically and in sports. The winners of this award not only demonstrate excellence in both the classroom and on the field, but their extracurricular endeavors and volunteerism also make them positive models for their peers.
We are thankful to our sponsors of this award, Trinity in Taylorville and Woodward Community Media, for allowing us to provide a $1,000 scholarship to both recipients to use towards college expenses.
The 2025 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year is Reid Bodine of Williamsville High School. Reid is an Illinois State Scholar with a 4.69 GPA and was named to the IHSA All-State Academic Team. He played four years of varsity soccer and two years of varsity basketball. He was involved with student council, youth & government, the Williamsville Wire, FCA and more while at Williamsville. Reid plans to attend the University of Illinois and study finance.
