Anthony Beckman (Williamsville Boys Track & Field) A busy week for the Williamsville boys track team with three meets. Beckman picked up wins in shot put in two of those meets. The first win came at the Williamsville Indoor meet on Tuesday with a throw of 50 feet 10.25 inches. The second win came at the Mt Zion Apollo+ Invite on Saturday with a throw of 49 feet 11.75 inches.
Ashlyn Chopra (Glenwood Girls Track & Field) The Glenwood junior broke a 21 year old school record over the weekend. Chopra finished second in the 3200m at the Central Illinois High Performance Classic over the week with a time of 11:28.03 to set a new school record. She also took first place in the 1600m at the Normal West Lady Wildcat Invite earlier in the week with a time of 5:19.51.
Connell Doolin (Maroa Forsyth Boys Track & Field) The Maroa Forsyth senior was a part of two first place finishes at the Central Illinois High Performance Classic at Illinois College on Saturday. Doolin picked up an individual win in the 200 meter with a time of 23.32 seconds. He was also the first runner in the 4×200 team which finished first in 1:33.16.
Teagen Galloway (Pleasant Plains Girls Track & Field) Pleasant Plains competed at the Central Illinois High Performance Classic at Illinois College on Saturday. Galloway had a busy day with an individual win in high jump with a jump of 4 feet 11.75 inches. She was also a part of two relay races. The 4×400 team finished first with a time of 4:08.36 while the 4×200 teams finished second in 1:52.33.
Jonathan Helm (Glenwood Boys Basketball) The Titans made their first trip to the boys basketball final four in school history last week. They punched their ticket to Champaign with a 43-41 super sectional win over Triad at the BOS Center. Helm had the game winning basket in that victory while scoring nine points and collecting 11 rebounds. Check out the highlights of the win HERE.
Mason Neumann (Glenwood Boys Basketball) Glenwood brought home their first state trophy in boys basketball last week with a fourth place finish. In the third place game against St Patrick, Neumann led the way with 15 points and six rebounds to help keep the Titans in the game before halftime. See some highlights HERE.
Jaiyden Wilson (Springfield High Boys Track & Field) Wilson brought home two wins from the Williamsville Indoor meet on Tuesday. He picked up first place in the 60 meter with a time of 6.96 seconds and first place in triple jump with a jump of 12.59 meters.
