Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: January 20-25

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Cooper Carter (Auburn Boys Basketball) The Trojans started the Sangamo schedule with 61-23 win over Olympia on Friday night. Carter was hot in the first half as he scored 23 points including five three pointers. Check out some highlights of the victory HERE.

Navehua Collier (Southeast Girls Basketball) The Spartans took home a share of the City title on Saturday thanks to wins over Sacred Heart Griffin and Lanphier. Collier scored 11 points and picked up eight rebounds in a win over SHG on Wednesday. She then scored 15 points and had six rebounds in a loss to Springfield on Friday night. Izzy Hassebrock (Sacred Heart Griffin Girls Basketball) The Cyclones picked up a big win on Saturday over Springfield High to force a three way share of the City title. Hassebrock was a big piece of the win as the Cyclones came back from being down eight with six minutes to play. She sparked a 17-0 run while forcing four steal, causing two throw aways for turnovers, picking up two rebounds and going 4 for 4 at the free throw line. She finished the night with 14 points. Shaunassey Hatchett (Lanphier Boys Basketball) The Lanphier Lions entered City as the number three seed, went on to finish 3-0 and took home the outright City title. Hatchett finished the three game tournament with a total of 49 points and 21 rebounds. His best performance was against Springfield on Friday with 21 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Megan Hughes (Illini Central Girls Basketball) The junior is putting her name in the Illini Central record books. She recently became the career three point leader at IC with the previous record sitting at 198. Then just three days later another record fell as Hughes made her 71st three of the season to claim the single season three point record.

Bailey Leach (Pleasant Plains Girls Basketball) The Cardinals picked up a Sangamon County Title on Thursday with a 48-30 win over Auburn. In the win Leach scored 12 points and she also added 9 in a win over Pawnee in the semifinal on Tuesday. Highlights of the semifinal win HERE and the title victory HERE.

Abigail Malit (Springfield High Girls Basketball) The Senators won a share of the City title at the BOS Center over the weekend. The freshman had a big game against Southeast on Friday with 19 points, six rebounds and two steals. She also scored five points and had five rebounds in a win over Lanphier and scored eight points in a loss to SHG. Highlights of that performance against Southeast HERE.

Dawson McConnell (Lincoln Wrestling) A big milestone for McConnell on Thursday against Jacksonville. McConnell picked up his 150th career victory with a pin. That win also helped the Railers win the dual and set a new school record for dual wins in a season. Highlights of the Lincoln dual against Jacksonville HERE.

Taylor Offer (Rochester Girls Basketball) The Rockets traveled to MacArthur on Thursday and Offer brought home a career milestone. She scored her thousandth point in that game and finished the night with 20 points.

Brayden Saling (Williamsville Boys Basketball) A career day for the Bullets senior on Saturday as he reached a career milestone and broke a school record. In a win over Chicago Hope, Saling scored his thousandth point with a three pointer in the second quarter. He would finish the day with 36 points and 10 three pointers. That performances also gave him the school record for made threes in a career which previously sat at 246. Highlights of the record breaking performance HERE.

Aubrey Vogel (PORTA Girls Basketball) Vogel had a big night as the Lady Jays picked up a 49-39 win over Warrensburg Latham last week. She scored 22 of her game high 30 points in the second half. That included three three pointers and going 7-for-9 at the free throw line.
