Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: January 6-11

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Owen Alford (Olympia Boys Basketball) The Spartans picked up two wins last week. In a win over Midwest Central on Tuesday Alford scored 23 points including his thousandth career point. He became the eighth in Olympia boys basketball history to reach this milestone. He also had 12 points in a win over Tri-City on Saturday which you can see highlights of HERE.

David Bard (Illini Central Boys Basketball) A big night for Bard as he hit a career milestone and set a school record in the same game. In a 83-82 overtime win over Lutheran on Thursday night Bard scored his thousandth career point. He hit that milestone in a 41 point performance which sets a new school record for points in a single game. The senior also scored 29 in a win over Christian Life Academy on Tuesday.

Avery Braden (Maroa Forsyth Girls Basketball) For the second year in a row the Trojans are Macon County Tournament Champs! In the 68-43 win over Meridian it was Braden who led the way with 25 points, six rebounds and five steals. She was also Maroa’s Hustle Award winner for the game. See highlights of the victory HERE.

Luke Blackford (Calvary Boys Basketball) The Saints picked up a win over Peoria Christian at the Clinton Shootout on Saturday and it was Blackford that was the difference. He made a layup with 0.8 seconds left on the clock for the 81-80 win. Trailing at the end of the third, Blackford scored 17 points in the fourth quarter as Calvary worked their way back for the victory. He would finish the game with 29 points.

Jonathan Helm (Glenwood Boys Basketball) The Titans traveled to Mt Zion on Tuesday night and picked up a 56-53 win over the Braves. Helm was one of the leading scorers in the victory with 21 points. He also scored 11 as the Titans fell 59-52 in overtime to Centennial on Saturday. See highlights of the win over Mt Zion HERE.

Lovely Jackson (Lanphier Girls Basketball) The Lions traveled to Jacksonville on Saturday and picked up a 57-33 victory. Jackson made 12 field goals and went 7 for 9 at the free throw line in the game as she led the way with 32 points.

Ryan Lash (Auburn Boys Basketball) The Trojans will head into the county tournament this week with a 16-1 record following two wins last week. Lash is a consistent scorer for the Trojans, he led all scorers with 15 points in a win over South County on Friday night. He also scored 14 in a win over Calvary on Tuesday. Macy Martynowski (Glenwood Girls Basketball) There was a rematch of last year’s 3A state championship in Lincoln on Saturday and the Titans picked up the win. In the 66-56 overtime victory, Martynowski helped lead Glenwood with a team high 15 points. Highlights of the win HERE.

Marcus Page (Eisenhower Boys Basketball) The Panthers made the trip to Rochester on Friday night and picked up a 70-57 win over the Rockets. Eisenhower had three players in double figures but it was Page leading the way with 18 points. See highlights of the Central State Eight victory HERE.

Trager Shultz (Pleasant Plains Boys Basketball) The Cardinals won three games last week with Shultz helping lead the way. In a win over North Mac on Wednesday, Shultz made four three-pointers in the first half and finished with 18 points. He then scored 13 in a 49-37 win over Charleston on Saturday. Addison Tarr (Taylorville Girls Basketball) The Tornadoes picked up a 71-54 win over MacArthur last week as Taylorville finished the week at 10-7 this season. In that victory over the Generals Tarr led the way with 30 points. You can see highlights of the game HERE.

Anna Weber (Pleasant Plains Girls Basketball) Pleasant Plains took on Lincoln in a non-conference game on Thursday and picked up a 50-31 victory. In that win it was Weber leading the way with 27 points. Fifteen of those 27 points came in the first half. Check out highlights of the win HERE.

Mitch Williams (Maroa Forsyth Boys Basketball) The Maroa Forsyth senior made his return to the court on Friday night following an injury in the state championship football game in November. On Saturday he led the way for the Trojans with 27 points in a win over Cornerstone Christian at the Clinton Shootout. Williams also scored 12 in a loss to Tolono Unity on Friday night.
