The Maroa Forsyth Trojans are heading back in a state title game for the first time since 2018! The Trojans picked up a 41-22 win over Johnston City in a 2A semifinal on Saturday, their third semifinal appearance in three years. Mitch Williams helped lead the way with three touchdowns and a blocked punt while he also broke the all time career receiving yards record at Maroa Forsyth. Ryne Sheppard also set a season completion record as he completed 16 of 19 passes for 291 yards and four touchdowns. The Trojans will take on Chicago Christian on Friday, November 29th at 1pm for a state title at Hancock Stadium in Normal.
