Springfield High scored two goals in 18 seconds to put the 2A sectional semifinal away and keep their season alive. The Senators beat Champaign Centennial 3-1 on a penalty kick goal from Gavin Oyler and Faron Harmony followed that up with a spectacular strike to seal it. Augie Bilyeu scored in the 5th minute to get the Senators on the scoreboard in the first half. Isaac Ramos scored the Chargers’ only goal in the 45th minute. Springfield High will play the winner of Wednesday’s sectional semifinal between Glenwood and Mahomet Seymour for the 2A Warrensburg Latham sectional championship on Saturday at 10 am. The Senators will get their leading scorer (Evan Carrell) back on Saturday after he had to sit out Tuesday’s game due to a red card in the regional title game.
