Who are your kids and what sports do they play/played at what school?

Name: Emily

Sports: Currently plays football (kicker) and soccer (at school and competitively) Played basketball 5th – 8th grades at Blessed Sacrament (BSS). Also played basketball Freshman and Sophomore years at SHG. Played volleyball, ran track and did golf 5th – 8th grades at BSS.

School: Currently a Junior at Sacred Heart Griffin (SHG).

Name: Ethan

Sports: Participated in youth recreational soccer until about 4th grade. Played golf for BSS 5th – 8th grades.

School: Graduated SHG 2023 and currently attending ISU

EXTRA:  The funny thing about all of this is that Ethan was the one who filled out the nomination form for me. He is not my athlete, but he is one of his sisters biggest fans and supports her whenever he can. He is my nerdy, computer/technology savvy kid who has reached the level of Eagle Scout. He is an adult member of the Order of the Arrow and is still very involved in promoting and supporting Scouting in all forms. Although he is not my athlete has had an instrumental part in helping hundreds and thousands of people enjoy their own kids sporting events during and through Covid. Because of his innate ability with computers and video technology he led the charge at BSS to live stream all indoor sport home games. He not only did live streaming of sporting events, but he also set up the live streaming of weekly mass at BSS. He was able to raise over $10,000 to purchase cameras, mics and computer/software to establish and maintain the live streams. BSS continues to live stream today. He also was a part of the Broadcasting class/club at SHG and would live stream sporting events there.

Favorite Mother’s Day Gift: I cannot pick one as a favorite. Of course, I loved and appreciated all the handmade gifts from when they were younger. Some of my favorites as they have gotten older include a photo book with pictures of the three of us; the funny photos and flowers they give me each year and most recently a basket full of things they know I like. Very thoughtful. It is also their tradition to make breakfast for me. Glad they have gotten older, and the food is much better!

Hidden Talent: I don’t believe I have any.

Best song to rock out with in a car full of kids:  Anything from the ’80’s or early ’90’s.

My best sport in high school was:  Individually my best sport was volleyball. As a team it would have been basketball. As a member of the ’86/’87 girls basketball team I was inducted to the Chatham Glenwood Hall of Fame for seasonal record. I also organized teams and played soccer throughout high school through the YMCA with my friends due to no HS girls soccer at the time.
