Makenzie Doe (Glenwood Boys Soccer) The Titans picked up four wins last week including two conference victories. In a win over Jacksonville on Thursday it was Doe with the lone goal early in the second half that helped lead Glenwood to the 1-0 win. He also picked up an assist against QND on Monday and another goal versus Quincy on Saturday. See highlights of the win over Jacksonville HERE.
Noah Grieshaber (Normal U-High Boys Soccer) The Pioneers are starting this week at 12-1 with a 4-0 record in the Central State Eight. Three of those conference wins came last week including a 3-0 victory against Springfield High. In that game Grieshaber picked up the shutout in goal for U-High. Highlights of the victory HERE.
Riley Holliday (Williamsville Volleyball) The Bullets started their conference schedule with a 2-0 win over Riverton on Thursday. Holliday helped lead the way with 18 assists, five digs, three aces and three kills. Williamsville is back in Sangamo action on Tuesday against Athens. Colten Knoedler (Glenwood Football) A big win for Glenwood on Friday night at home with a 45-17 victory over Rochester. Knoedler led the way in the victory as he went 15 for 22 in the air for 246 yards and five touchdowns. Highlights of that performance and more HERE.
Ali Londrigan (Glenwood Girls Cross Country) The Titans picked up another team victory this weekend at the Dunlap Invite. Londrigan led the way with an individual victory and a time of 17:53 while Glenwood had five runners finish in the top ten. Check out some highlights HERE.
Wyatt Mueller (Quincy Notre Dame Football) The Raiders are 2-0 in the Central State Eight after a 37-7 win over Sacred Heart Griffin on Friday night in Quincy. Mueller had a big performance with 118 passing yards and three passing touchdowns. He also rushed for two touchdowns and 31 yards while adding 14 receiving yards to his stat line. Morgan Petelin (Normal U-High Volleyball) Normal U-High picked up two Central State Eight wins last week to move their conference record to 5-0. In a two set win over Springfield Petelin tallied 15 assists and three aces. She also had nine digs, seven assists and an ace in a win over Southeast. Peyton Sasse (Lincoln Volleyball) A career milestone for the Lincoln senior as she broke the school record for career kills on Thursday. The record came in a 2-0 victory against Springfield High as Sasse picked up 12 kills in the game for a total of 1,025 kills in her career.
Cooper Schallenberg (Pleasant Plains Football) The Cardinals picked up a 28-25 win on Friday and it was Schallenberg who threw the game winning touchdown. That touchdown came with 39.5 seconds left to Grady Grisham from 50 yards out before Schallenberg also picked up the two point conversion. He finished the night 11 for 16 with 194 passing yards and two touchdowns. The senior also rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
Ryne Sheppard (Maroa Forsyth Football) Maroa Forsyth picked up a win over PORTA on Friday while Sheppard had a big seven touchdown performance. He went 17 for 22 with 319 yards and six touchdowns through the air while also adding a two point conversion. Sheppard added 28 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Addie Stadsholt (Athens Volleyball) The Sangamo volleyball schedule got started on Thursday and Athens started off with a win over Pleasant Plains. In the 2-0 victory Stadsholt had 11 kills, six digs, a block and an assist. We have highlights of the conference win HERE.
Zach Watson (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Golf) The Boys City Golf Meet was held at Panther Creek on Wednesday and it was Watson who picked up the individual title. He shot a 71 for the win by eight strokes. The Cyclones also took the team victory by four strokes. Check out highlights of the meet HERE.
Alek Weiland (Normal U-High Football) Weiland is back on the list this week after another five touchdown performance. In a 52-0 win over Lincoln the senior quarterback threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another 31 yards and two TDs. See some of those touchdowns HERE.
