Channel1450 Awards – Male Scholar Athlete

We were happy to present two Scholar Athlete of the Year Awards this year, one to a female and one to a male student athlete. This award recognizes college-bound high school seniors who standout academically and in sports. The winners of this award not only demonstrate excellence in both the classroom and on the field, but their extracurricular endeavors and volunteerism also make them positive models for their peers.

We are thankful to our sponsors of this award, Peerless Cleaning & Restoration, Trinity in Taylorville and Neuhoff Media, for allowing us to provide a $2,000 scholarship to both recipients to use towards college expenses.

The 2024 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year is Isaac Crumrine of Riverton High School. He competed in six sports his senior season, including three in the fall and two in the spring, all while maintaining a 4.77 GPA. Isaac is a part of the IHSA All-State Academic Team, was awarded the Roushey Sportsmanship Award at Riverton and displayed excellent leadership skills throughout his time as a Hawk. He was named to three Sangamo All-Conference teams in his senior year while also earning all-state honors in cross country. Isaac will be continuing his education at the University of Oklahoma where he plans to major in political science with an emphasis in pre-law. Hear from Riverton Athletic Director Katie Nichols and some of Isaac’s coaches above.
