We were happy to present two Scholar Athlete of the Year Awards this year, one to a female and one to a male student athlete. This award recognizes college-bound high school seniors who standout academically and in sports. The winners of this award not only demonstrate excellence in both the classroom and on the field, but their extracurricular endeavors and volunteerism also make them positive models for their peers.
We are thankful to our sponsors of this award, Peerless Cleaning & Restoration, Trinity in Taylorville and Neuhoff Media, for allowing us to provide a $2,000 scholarship to both recipients to use towards college expenses.
The 2024 Female Scholar Athlete of the Year is Kloe Froebe from Lincoln Community High School. She was the valedictorian of her class with a 4.52 GPA. Kloe is a part of the IHSA All-State Academic Team and served as student body president as a senior. She helped lead the Railers to the 2024 Class 3A Girls Basketball State Title and was named Ms. Basketball and the Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year. She finishes her high school career fifth all time on the Illinois scoring list with three thousand two hundred and sixty two points while also picking up multiple Lincoln and state tournament records in the process. Kloe will continue playing basketball at Colorado State while majoring in political science. Hear from Lincoln Girls Basketball Coach Taylor Rohrer and two of Kloe’s teachers above.
