Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: April 22-27

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

Ava Bobb (Glenwood Softball) The Titans’ freshman continues her hot streak at the plate. In a comeback win over Normal UHigh, Bobb hit a game tying two-run home run. Glenwood would go on to win that game 7-6 in the eighth inning. The next day in a game against Rochester, Bobb went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Taylor Brewer (Pleasant Plains Baseball) Pleasant Plains picked up a 2-1 win over Williamsville on Thursday to force a two way tie at the top of the Sangamo standings. Brewer pitched a complete game allowing two hits, no earned runs, two walks and struck out five. Some highlights of the victory HERE.

Jaci Derringer (Athens Softball) The Warriors picked up a big win in Jacksonville last week as Derringer had a big day at the plate. She went 5-for-5 with five runs scored and seven RBIs. Those seven RBIs came on four home runs, a solo shot and three 2-run homers.

Drew Farnsworth (Williamsville Track and Field) The Bullets hosted their inaugural Don Williams Invite on Saturday and Farnsworth had a busy day with four wins. He picked up individual wins in the 100 meter (12.05 seconds) and the 200 meter (24.93 seconds). He was also a part of two winning relays, the 4×100 (45.54 seconds) and the 4×200 (1:34.25).

Danika Frazier (Olympia Softball) Frazier helped the Spartans move to 6-0 in the Sangamo on Thursday as she threw a no-hitter. In the 7 innings of work she struck out 15 and allowed three walks. Frazier also drove in two runs on a double in the 4-0 victory over PORTA. Earlier in the week in a conference win over Maroa Forsyth, Frazier struck out 11 in five innings. Hayden Hicks (Jacksonville Baseball) The Crimsons picked up a win in the Mayor’s Cup against the Rockets of Jacksonville Routt on Saturday afternoon. In the 13-8 victory, Hicks had success at the plate and on the mound. Hicks picked up the win in 4.2 inning pitched, allowing four hits, one run and struck out seven. He also went 3-for-5 at the plate with 1 run scored and one RBI. Check out the highlights HERE.

Bailey Leach (Pleasant Plains Girls Soccer) Pleasant Plains won their own tournament last week with a 5-1 victory in the championship game over Williamsville. In that victory, it was Leach with a hat-trick in the first 50 minutes of the game that helped lead the Cardinals to the win. See those goals and more HERE.

Abi Stephens (Glenwood Girls Soccer) The Titans got two wins in the Glenwood Girls Soccer Invite over the weekend. One of those wins came on Friday night with a 2-0 victory over Morton in which Stephens preserved the shutout in goal. That victory was also a special one for head coach Jay Lipe as he won his 500th game. Highlights of the victory HERE.

Meena Taylor (Auburn Softball) The Trojans are one of two unbeaten teams in the Sangamo after two more conference wins last week. In a 4-0 win over Maroa Forsyth, Taylor got the win in the circle striking out 15 in seven innings while allowing just one hit and one walk.

Drew Wahlbrink (Glenwood Baseball) The Titans continue to pick up conference wins this season including one on Wednesday against Rochester. In the 2-1 win, Wahlbrink came to the mound and picked up the save. He threw two innings with no hit or runs allowed and struck out four to move the Titans to 5-0 in the CS8.
