The Loggers won big over Millikin University 13-1 on Wednesday. The Loggers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Millikin University committed an error, and Hunter Moser doubled, each scoring one run. The Loggers scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. Chase Jetel singled, scoring one run, Andrew Hendrickson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Ethan Hurst tripled, scoring two runs, and Moser singled, scoring one run.
Ryan Oswald earned the win for the Loggers. They gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking none. Max Simpson took the loss for Millikin University. The starting pitcher went one inning, allowing two runs (zero earned) on two hits, striking out none and walking none. Thomas Krueger, Matt Miscik, Hendrickson, Will Leman, and Luke Wickenhauser each threw scoreless innings for the Loggers in relief.
The Loggers accumulated 14 hits in the game. Jetel, Evan Kochel, Moser, Grant Pohlman, Hendrickson, and Hurst each collected two hits for the Loggers. Pohlman and Hendrickson were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for the Loggers. The Loggers turned one double play in the game. The Loggers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Hendrickson had the most chances in the field with eight.
Grant Morgan led the team with one run batted in. JD Raycraft, Hayden Stork, and Blake Binkowski each collected one hit for Millikin University.
