LLCC: Loggers Drop Both Games to #1 Parkland

Game 1 – Parkland

The Loggers had trouble keeping up with Parkland Cobras in an 8-0 loss on Friday. Parkland Cobras got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Lizzie Stiverson singled, Stiverson scored after tagging up, and Ryleigh Owens doubled, each scoring one run. Parkland Cobras added one run in the second. Alisha Frederick doubled, making the score 4-0.

Ellie Vetter earned the win for Parkland Cobras. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking four. Bailey Teasley took the loss for the Loggers. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs on 11 hits, striking out one and walking one. Destiny Loeb, Hannah Myers, and Charlie Hayes each collected one hit for the Loggers. Loeb led the Loggers with two walks.

Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting four walks for the game. The Loggers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Haley Willan had the most chances in the field with four.

Parkland Cobras accumulated 12 hits in the game. Frederick, Stiverson, Karley Yergler, Owens, and Mia Ruder each collected two hits for Parkland Cobras. Lexie Griffin, Stiverson, and Owens each drove in two runs for Parkland Cobras. Parkland Cobras turned one double play in the game. Parkland Cobras were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Griffin had the most chances in the field with nine.

Game 1 – Parkland

The Loggers Softball 2024 couldn’t keep up with Parkland Cobras and fell 8-0 on Friday. Parkland Cobras opened the scoring in the first after Karley Yergler doubled, scoring one run.

Yergler earned the win for Parkland Cobras. They gave up three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Kaylee Yost took the loss for the Loggers. The starting pitcher went five and one-third innings, surrendering eight runs (two earned) on 10 hits, striking out four and walking five.

Destiny Loeb, Emmy Refro, and Andee Brown each collected one hit for the Loggers.

Kailyn Wilson led Parkland Cobras with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. Alisha Frederick, Katy Hendricks, Yergler, and Tori Thomas each collected two hits for Parkland Cobras. Parkland Cobras had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating five walks for the game. Parkland Cobras were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Lexie Griffin had the most chances in the field with six.

Next up for the Loggers is a game at Danville Area Community College on Sunday.
