LLCC Softball: Loggers Lose Both to St. Louis

G1 – St. Louis Community College

The Loggers had trouble keeping up with St. Louis Community College in an 11-0 loss on Wednesday. St. Louis Community College jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Keira Chrisco tripled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Jazmin Reinkmeyer homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Gabrielle Bax doubled, scoring one run. St. Louis Community College added one run in the second. Morgan Jones singled, making the score 6-0. St. Louis Community College added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Bax singled, Chrisco singled, Gretchen Trello doubled, and Natalee Watts singled, each scoring one run.

Lily Hurley earned the win for St. Louis Community College. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking two. Maranda File took the loss for the Loggers. The righty went three innings, allowing 10 runs (six earned) on 13 hits, striking out two and walking none. Sage Carr went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Loggers in hits. The Loggers  turned one double play in the game.

St. Louis Community College accumulated 17 hits in the game. Trello, Chrisco, and Watts each collected three hits for St. Louis Community College. Chrisco, Bax, and Reinkmeyer each drove in two runs for St. Louis Community College. Mackenzie Gieseler and Jones each collected multiple hits for St. Louis Community College. St. Louis Community College turned one double play in the game. St. Louis Community College were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Gieseler had the most chances in the field with eight.

G2 – St. Louis Community College

Haley Willan collected three hits in three at bats, but Loggers Softball 2024 lost to St. Louis Community College 9-4 on Wednesday. Willan hit a home run to center field in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning. The Loggers got on the board in the first inning after Willan singled, scoring one run. St. Louis Community College captured the lead, 3-1, in the top of the third after Natalee Watts singled, Jazmin Reinkmeyer walked, and Abby Bellamy singled, each scoring one run.

Willan homered to center field, which helped the Loggers tie the game at three in the bottom of the third. St. Louis Community College flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits to take a 8-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a grand slam to right field by Cece Mora that drove in four.

Aralyn Ranck earned the win for St. Louis Community College. They surrendered seven hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking none. Kaylee Yost took the loss for the Loggers. They went five innings, surrendering eight runs on 10 hits, striking out four and walking four.

St. Louis Community College accumulated 13 hits in the game. Mora drove the middle of the lineup, leading St. Louis Community College with four runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Keira Chrisco and Watts each collected three hits for St. Louis Community College.

Gretchen Trello collected two hits for St. Louis Community College in four at bats. Mora paced St. Louis Community College with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying four walks for the game.
