LLCC Baseball: Loggers Complete The Sweep Of Vincennes

G1 – Vincennes

The Loggers were triumphant over Vincennes University Trailblazers 10-5 on Sunday. Vincennes University Trailblazers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Dylan Ecken walked, Bryan Kohlmeyer walked, and Bryton Griffy singled, each scoring one run.

The Loggers flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring seven runs on three hits to take a 7-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Hunter Moser that drove in two. Mark Wolak earned the win for the Loggers. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over four and one-third innings, striking out five and walking none. Alex Wandersee took the loss for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The righty went four innings, giving up nine runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out two and walking six. Porter Conn started on the bump for the Loggers. The southpaw surrendered five hits and five runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking six.

The Loggers accumulated 10 hits in the game. Moser led the Loggers with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. They went 2-for-4 on the day. Moser, Grant Pohlman, Andrew Randazzo, and Andrew Hendrickson each collected two hits for the Loggers. The Loggers had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Nolan McMasters, Caleb Royer, and Hendrickson led the team with two free passes each.

The Loggers turned one double play in the game. The Loggers were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Pohlman made the most plays with 13. G2 – Vincennes

Wandel Campana drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Loggers past Vincennes University Trailblazers 17-6 on Sunday. Campana hit a grand slam to right field in the sixth inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring one.

The Loggers opened the scoring in the second after Chase Jetel homered to right field, scoring three runs. The Loggers added one run in the third after Campana singled. The Loggers scored eight runs on two hits in the top of the sixth inning.

Andrew Randazzo tripled, scoring three runs, Andrew Hendrickson drew a walk, scoring one run, and Campana hit a grand slam to right field. Vincennes University Trailblazers scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth on a grand slam to right field by Bradyn Douglas after a 8-pitch at-bat.

Zane Danielson earned the win for the Loggers. The left-handed pitcher allowed two hits and two runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking three. Josh McCormick took the loss for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The righty went one and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on one hit, striking out two and walking one. Will Leman appeared in relief for the Loggers.

The Loggers amassed 10 hits in the game. Campana and Ethan Hurst each collected two hits for Loggers. Randazzo paced Loggers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. The Loggers stole three bases in the game. The Loggers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Braylan Smith had the most chances in the field with eight.
