G1 – Vincennes University
Mitch Dye struck out 10 batters as they led the Loggers past Vincennes University Trailblazers 10-4 on Saturday at Vincennes. Dye surrendered six hits and two runs over seven innings while walking two.
The Loggers won thanks in part to seven runs in the eighth inning. Nolan McMasters hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Ethan Hurst grounded out, scoring one run, Andrew Randazzo drew a walk, scoring one run, Andrew Hendrickson doubled, scoring three runs, and McMasters singled, scoring one run. Vincennes University Trailblazers opened the scoring in the first after Nate Montgomery drew a walk, scoring one run.
In the top of the second inning, the Loggers went back into the lead after Hunter Moser hit into a fielder’s choice, Vincennes University Trailblazers committed an error, and Randazzo singled, each scoring one run.
Carson Allen took the loss for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The righty went six innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on seven hits, striking out six and walking three. Trey Carter pitched two innings of scoreless ball for the Loggers in relief. The righty surrendered one hit, striking out two and walking none.
The Loggers amassed 13 hits in the game. Hendrickson went 2-for-5 at the plate as the left-handed hitter led the team with three runs batted in. Grant Pohlman went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Loggers in hits. Caleb Royer and Hurst each collected multiple hits for the Loggers.
Trevor Newman, the number eight hitter for Vincennes University Trailblazers, led the way with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Carter Whitehead, Newman, and Bradyn Douglas each collected two hits for Vincennes University Trailblazers.
Jace Parnin stole two bases. Vincennes University Trailblazers turned one double play in the game.

The Loggers scored six runs in the fifth inning, which helped them defeat Vincennes University Trailblazers 10-0 on Saturday. Grant Pohlman singled, scoring one run, Hunter Moser tripled, scoring two runs, Evan Kochel singled, scoring two runs, and a steal of home scored one run.
The Loggers got on the board in the top of the second inning after Chase Jetel singled, and Andrew Hendrickson hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Jack Wajda earned the win for the Loggers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out six and walking four. Kaleb Marrs took the loss for Vincennes University Trailblazers. They went four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on nine hits, striking out six and walking one. Eli Curtis pitched one inning of shutout ball for the Loggers in relief. The lefty allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking one.
The Loggers accumulated 12 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Andrew Randazzo led Loggers with three hits in five at bats. Kochel and Moser each drove in two runs for the Loggers. Pohlman collected two hits for Loggers in four at bats. Kochel stole two bases. The Loggers ran wild on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases for the game. The Loggers were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Kochel made the most plays with eight.
Nate Montgomery and Corbin Napier each collected one hit for Vincennes University Trailblazers.
Loggers will travel to Vincennes University Trailblazers for their next game on Sunday.
