LLCC: Loggers Split on the Day

G1 – Lewis & Clark

The Loggers defeated Lewis and Clark 8-0 on Friday thanks in part to six runs in the fifth inning. Sydney Glick doubled, scoring two runs, Amelia Telger singled, scoring one run, Sage Carr doubled, scoring two runs, and Bridgette Royer drew a walk, scoring one run. The Loggers opened the scoring in the second after Destiny Loeb drew a walk, scoring one run.

Kaylee Yost stepped in the circle first for the Loggers. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking four. Taylor Stelbrink stepped in the circle first for Lewis and Clark. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over five and one-third innings, striking out two and walking nine. Telger, Glick, and Royer each collected two hits for the Loggers. Glick and Carr each drove in two runs for the Loggers.

The Loggers had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Loeb and Carr led the team with three walks each. The Loggers ran wild on the base paths, collecting three stolen bases for the game. The Loggers were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Andee Brown made the most plays with nine.

Savannah Billings led Lewis and Clark with three hits in three at bats. Stelbrink paced Lewis and Clark with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting four walks for the game. Lewis and Clark turned one double play in the game. Lewis and Clark didn’t commit a single error in the field. Chloe Knowles had the most chances in the field with six.

G2 – Lewis & Clark

The Loggers couldn’t keep up with Lewis and Clark and fell 12-4 on Friday. A sacrifice fly by Bridgette Royer put the Loggers on the board in the top of the first. Lewis and Clark jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Savannah Billings hit a sacrifice fly, Taylor Stelbrink singled, and Madilyn Fry hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Lewis and Clark added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after eve doubled, and Stelbrink singled, each scoring one run. Lewis and Clark added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Chloe Knowles tripled, scoring three runs, and Stelbrink doubled, scoring one run.

Sage Carr hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the sixth for the Loggers. Alissa Sauls earned the win for Lewis and Clark. They allowed two hits and three runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking two. Maranda File pitched three innings in relief for the Loggers. The righty allowed five hits and three runs while, striking out two and walking none. Bailey Teasley took the loss for the Loggers. The starting pitcher went one and one-third innings, surrendering five runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking four.

Royer drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Loggers with two runs batted in. Sydney Glick, Charlie Hayes, and Carr each collected one hit for the Loggers.

Lewis and Clark piled up 15 hits in the game. Whitney Weller set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Lewis and Clark with four hits in four at bats. Knowles and Stelbrink were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Lewis and Clark. Sauls collected two hits for Lewis and Clark in four at bats. Billings led Lewis and Clark with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up five walks for the game. Lewis and Clark turned two double plays in the game. Lewis and Clark were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. billings made the most plays with eight.
