Game 1 vs Spoon River
The Loggers scored six runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Spoon River College (SRC) 10-0 on Monday at Canton. An error scored one run, Wandel Campana was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Andrew Randazzo singled, scoring two runs, and Andrew Hendrickson doubled, scoring two runs. A solo home run to left field by Randazzo put Loggers on the board in the top of the first.
Porter Conn earned the win for the Loggers. The left-handed pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking four. Jake Nelms took the loss for SRC. The starting pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs (one earned) on one hit, striking out six and walking seven. Luke Wickenhauser tossed one inning of scoreless ball for the Loggers in relief. The righty allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking two. Leadoff hitter Randazzo led Loggers with two hits in four at bats. Campana, Randazzo, and Hendrickson each drove in three runs for the Loggers. Loggers had patience at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game. Campana, Nolan McMasters, and Hendrickson led the team with two bases on balls each. The Loggers didn’t commit a single error in the field.
Grant Pohlman had the most chances in the field with nine
Chase Gerwig led SRC with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position. SRC turned one double play in the game.

Game 2 vs Spoon River
The Loggers easily dispatched SRC Spring ’24 on Monday, 13-0. The Loggers jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Grant Pohlman homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Andrew Randazzo grounded out, scoring one run.
The Loggers scored six runs on five hits in the top of the third inning. Austin Adcock doubled, scoring one run, Pohlman singled, scoring one run, Hunter Moser singled, scoring one run, Wandel Campana drew a walk, scoring one run, and Cody Haynes singled, scoring one run.
Mark Wolak earned the win for the Loggers. The righty allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking none. Matt Hopper took the loss for SRC. They went two and one-third innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking four. Thomas Krueger pitched one inning of no-run ball for the Loggers in relief. The righty gave up one hit, striking out one and walking none.
The Loggers collected 12 hits in the game.The Loggers’s Caleb Royer made the most of their chances at the plate. The number seven hitter led the team with three hits in three at bats. Pohlman went 2-for-2 at the plate as they led the team with three runs batted in. Moser collected two hits for the Loggers in three at bats. Nolan McMasters paced the Loggers with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Loggers stole three bases in the game.
Stephen Stufflebeam, Chase Gerwig, and Jacob Mishkin each collected one hit for SRC. SRC turned one double play in the game.
The Loggers will travel to Millikin University for their next game on Wednesday.
