Game 1 – Daytona State College
The Loggers fell to Daytona State College 7-2 on Sunday at Daytona State College. Daytona State College got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Kiera Mainolfi singled, scoring one run, Morgan Davis singled, scoring one run, and Cristina Penney doubled, scoring two runs.
Daytona State College added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Davis singled, and Mainolfi scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.
Allizaya Talamantes earned the win for Daytona State College. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking none. Kaylee Yost took the loss for the Loggers. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, surrendering seven runs on six hits, striking out three and walking four.
The Loggers Amelia Telger made the most of their chances at the plate. The number nine hitter led the team with two hits in three at bats. Allie Dolenc led the Loggers with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. The Loggers were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Sydney Glick made the most plays with four.
Davis and Mainolfi were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Daytona State College while hitting back-to-back.
Penney went 1-for-2 at the plate as the right fielder led the team with three runs batted in. Daytona State College had a strong eye at the plate, tallying four walks for the game. Daytona State College stole three bases in the game. Daytona State College didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hope Barnett had the most chances in the field with five.

Game 2 – Daytona State College
The Loggers fell to Daytona State College 5-3 on Sunday at Daytona International Speedway. The Loggers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Sydney Glick homered to right field, and Haley Willan singled, each scoring one run. A single by Charlie Hayes extended the Loggers lead to 3-1 in the top of the third inning. Daytona State College took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Morgan Davis singled, scoring two runs, to give Daytona State College the leg up, 4-3.
Madison Mitzel earned the win for Daytona State College. They allowed seven hits and three runs over two innings, striking out none and walking one. Maranda File took the loss for the Loggers. They went six innings, giving up five runs on 12 hits, striking out one and walking none.
Willan and Allie Dolenc each collected two hits for the Loggers. Glick, Hayes, and Willan each drove in one run for the Loggers. The Loggers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Dolenc had the most chances in the field with six. Daytona State College accumulated 12 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Logan Ringel led Daytona State College with three hits in four at bats.
Davis provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Daytona State College with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Bianca Weimer, Kiera Mainolfi, and Kadrianna Grindstead each collected multiple hits for Daytona State College. Daytona State College turned three double plays in the game. Daytona State College didn’t commit a single error in the field. Weimer had the most chances in the field with seven. The Loggers Softball 2024 will travel to Lake Sumter State College for their next game on Monday.
