Pleasant Plains defeated Gillespie 51-37 to advance to the 2A Beardstown Sectional Championship. The Cardinals led by just three at one point in the third but they closed the quarter strong and played tough defense in the fourth for the double digit win. Anna Weber led all scorers with 18 points, followed by Bailey Leach with 12.
