LLCC: Coach Riggle Wins His 700th Game

SPRINGFIELD – Head Coach Ron Riggle notches his 700th win.

Coach Riggle is in his 34th season coaching at Lincoln Land Community College and his 22nd year as head coach. In addition to his coaching duties Coach Riggle has been the Athletic Director since 1997. Ron also played at LLCC during the 1987-and 1988 seasons.

Coach Riggle has been to the NJCAA National Tournament eight times (1993, 1994, 1995, 2000, as an assistant coach and in 2014, 2015, 2019, 2021 as a head coach) while winning the national tournament twice (1994, 2000).

Coach Riggle has been a part of five no-hitters and sending on over 200 players to play past Lincoln Land. While being the head coach there have been nine players who have played professional baseball.

“It is an honor to be able to play for and then join Coach Riggle staff. He has been a tireless worker and has always strived to represent Lincoln Land with the utmost class and dignity. While there have been numerous individual awards and several victories he always cared about the player off the field as much as on the field. He cares as much about their classroom accomplishments as athletic. This has led to him leading a championship caliber program for decades.” Coach Danny McGee.
