Luke Blackford (Calvary Boys Basketball) A big moment for the Calvary sophomore at Springfield High on Thursday. He scored his 1,000th point in the second quarter on his way to a 23 point performance despite a close loss. He also scored 34 points in a win over Nokomis on Friday. Drew Davis (Glenwood Wrestling) The Titans are regional champs! Glenwood traveled to the Bethalto Civic Memorial regional on Saturday and picked up the team title. One of many Titans to pick up an individual title was Davis. He has a record of 36-0 this season and won the 120 pound bracket with a 8-2 decision in the title match. Kloe Froebe (Lincoln Girls Basketball) Froebe became one of ten girls in Illinois high school history to score 3,000 career points over the weekend. The milestone came on Friday in a win over O’Fallon with a 33 point performance. She also scored 31 against Mahomet Seymour and 27 against Alton last week. Liam Hatfield (Pleasant Plains Boys Basketball) The Cardinals picked up two Sangamo wins last week including an overtime win over Williamsville on Friday night. It was Hatfield who scored the game tying basket to help send the game to overtime. He finished that game with 19 points. Hatfield also scored 13 points in a win over Auburn on Tuesday. Will Hovey (Springfield High Boys Swimming & Diving) The Senators are Central State Eight conference champs after winning the conference meet at Eisenhower Pool on Saturday. Hovey was a part of two winning relays while also picking up an individual first place and second place finish. The senior won the 100 yard backstroke (58.20) and finished second in the 100 yard butterfly (56.71). He was the Senators first swimmer in the 200 yard medley relay (1:42.75) and anchored the 400 yard freestyle (3:26.06).

Callie Huston (Sacred Heart Griffin Girls Basketball) Sacred Heart Griffin traveled to Bloomington on Thursday and Huston brought home a career milestone. She scored her 1,000th point and scored eight points despite a 41-37 loss.

Sean Lee (MacArthur Boys Basketball) The General sit at the top of the Central State Eight conference with a record of 9-0 with one game remaining. MacArthur picked up two conference wins last week and Lee led the way in both. On Tuesday in a 67-63 win over Southeast, Lee scored 20 points. On Friday in a win over Rochester, he scored 23 points. Noah Lyons (South County Boys Basketball) Lyons is now a 1,000 point scorer in his high school career. The milestone came in a 45-37 win over North Mac on Saturday while at the free throw line late in the fourth quarter.

Jake Lawrence (Lincoln Wrestling) The Railers are regional champs! Lincoln will advance to a team sectional after winning the Bloomington regional on Saturday. Lawrence helped lead the for the Railers this season and at the regional. He picked up an individual title in the 144 pound bracket with a fall at 3:35. That win gave Lawrence a 25-6 record this season.

Pryor Reynolds (Athens Boys Basketball) The Warriors had a big second half against the Maroa Forsyth Trojans on Friday night on their way to a 53-51 victory. Reynolds led the way with 20 points in the game with 16 of those points coming in the second half. Athens now sit in third at 2-3 in the Sangamo. See the highlights HERE.
