Lincoln Land dominates the Cougars of Illinois Central College on Saturday afternoon to come away with a 20 point victory, 73-53.
One of the few bright spots for ICC on the afternoon was a 3-0 lead. From that point on Lincoln Land absolutely dominated the afternoon, but especially after the halftime break. After trailing 3-0 Lincoln Land put together a 9-0 run and never looked back. Although only up 10 at half, the deficit could have been much more. Any chance of the game remaining close was put away early in the second frame as LLCC again went on a 9-0 run to get up by 20 early, with 12:00 to go the Loggers led by a game high of 25 and the Cougars never threatened again.
Nine Loggers scored on the afternoon, 7 had at least 6 points. Sophomore Dane Foster led all scorers with 16 on the afternoon. Camren Kincaid got to 12 and Brandenn Robinson ended with 11, getting to double digits for the second game in a row. Axel Laby was impactful ending with 9 points and 9 boards.
Lincoln Land now sits in sole possession of 1st place in the in both the conference and the region and improved to 8-7 on the season and 2-0 in the MWAC Conference. They travel back out for another big game Wednesday against John Wood Community College.
