Jeff Athletic Director Timeline

1995 – 2007 served as Athletic Director for Divernon High School

2007 – present serving as Auburn Junior High Athletic Director

28 years as an athletic director

Jeff has served as Division 6 and District 18 Representative for the Illinois Athletic Association from 2005 – 2022

In 2022 Jeff was named to the Illinois Athletic Director Association Executive Board, a great honor.

Jeff has been THE standard in Central Illinois and throughout the state when it comes to hosting regional, sectional, county, and state tournaments. Jeff has hosted two state tournaments every year since the 1995-1996 school year. Very rarely do schools get that opportunity. To date, Jeff is the only Athletic Director to host 3 State Tournaments in one year! Hosting these events allow our teams to gain a home court advantage and help from keeping our student athletes and families traveling long distances during the school week.  And let’s not forget about the 6th Grade Boys Basketball Divernon Jamboree!!

The amount of work it takes to host these events is massive but Jeff wanted me to make sure that he acknowledges that it takes a large group of wonderful people that give up their time and work well together to pull these events off. He is grateful for all who have helped throughout the years.

Jeff is a caring, loving, and very sarcastic joking man who loves his family, especially those grandkids, and treats every player like they are his own. And “the famous knee” hasn’t had to give any weather predictions so far this year so that’s a good thing.

Whether you call him coach, co worker, friend, dad, papa, relative, the cat, or like my daughter Gemma calls him her buddy, will you please take a stand with me in honoring Jeff for everything he has done! Congrats on your induction into the Hall of Fame!
