LLCC: Loggers Dominate the Archers at Home 62-35

The Loggers absolutely dominated the Archers of St. Louis Community College, 62-35.
Lincoln Land lost earlier this season to the archers 69-60 where they came back from down 20 to get within 4 points. STLCC had also taken the last four contests from the Loggers over the past three seasons, tonight was a totally different result. With 7:00 to go in the first half, St. Louis held a 17-16 advantage. The Loggers used that stretch to take over the game. Lincoln Land closed the half only giving up 1 more point while putting in 11 of their own. The Loggers went in to the half break up 27-18.
The second half began with two Logger points and St. Louis never got closer than that 11 number. The Loggers began to use their size inside to dominate the Archers in the second half. Freshman Brandenn Robinson scored 12 points in the second half and sophomore Nick Cook added 7 both using that size advantage to dominate down low. Lincoln Land’s defense was stifling as they forced the Archers into just 16% shooting from the field and 0% from behind the arc. LLCC only allowed St. Louis to convert on 19% of their shots on the evening. Lincoln Land led by over 30 down the stretch of the commanding performance that saw St. Louis only score 35 points on the evening. That 35 is the least the Loggers have given up in the Chuck Shanklin era!
Robinson added in a team high 7 boards to go with his eventual game and career high 16. Camren Kincaid was the second leading scorer of the contest with 14 and also pulling in 7 boards. Nick Cook also got to double digits ending with 11 points. Dane Foster just missed breaking the 10-point mark by knocking in three threes for 9 points.
Lincoln Land gets back to .500 on the season getting to 4-4 on the season. They stay at home and look to stay hot on Monday against Region 24 opponent Rend Lake.
